Springtime cards ..............

Ribbon Girl are sponsoring this weeks challenge over at Just Magnolia and hAnglar sTanglar with a £10 gift voucher - the theme is Spring and this is my guest DT card.  I coloured the cute image in with copics. Tulips are my favourite springtime flower and they are featured on the background paper - Springtime by Pion which I got from my friend Jean

I added a doohickey Magnolia swirl, and a cuttlebug corner all cut from green card plus peach coloured pearls from stash, 32mm cream vintage style fine cluny lace and peach seam binding ribbon. The lace, ribbon and stickles are from here.  The mulberry flowers are tangerine pretty blossoms from here plus other flowers from WOC, and the leaves are punched with my very useful MS punch! I added a touch of stardust stickles to the flowers for extra springtime sparkle!

Andrea made this gorgeous card - it's so elegant and it actually folds flat for posting! She embellished her card with 38mm cream guipure lace, Zva crystal swirls, pretty blossom flowers, 38mm satin band sheer ribbon and leaf pins.  Her favourite embellishment at the moment is Liquid Pearls - she puts them on to everything and I must say they do finish off cards beautifully.  All of the ribbons flowers, crystal flourishes, lace, and the liquid pearls are available from the Ribbon Girl online store
So ladies - you've still got a couple of days to enter the Ribbon Girl colour challenge and a whole week to enter the Just Magnolia & HS challenge - so get crafting  - and with the Easter holiday starting tonight we are hoping to spend many happy hours crafting (and eating the odd chocolate egg - I'ver had no chocolate or butter since Lent began and I've almost forgotten what it tastes like! NOT :)

See you soon, Mary G x

March Colour Challenge ...

Hello, here we are with another Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge for March

Our challenge this month is to create a new project following the colour theme of Aqua and White and we have two fabulous prizes:   The first prize is from the Ribbon Girl - it is a lovely Aqua Ribbon Kit

and we are so lucky to have our friends over at Lili Of The Valley sponsoring our challenge with a fabulous £10 gift voucher to spend in the LOTV online store

As well as the actual prizes, the DT will choose the Top Three entries and they can display the 'I made top three at the Ribbon Girl' badge on their blog.  Before we show you the fabulous creations from the Ribbon Girl Design Team, we wanted to share this inspiration photograph - we would love some of that beautiful blue sea but sadly the North Sea is grey and cold up here in Newcastle, it's nice to dream though?

We are delighted to introduce  Pat Frank who lives in Richmond, Virginia, USA as our Guest Designer for this challenge
All About Pat:
I am "Gramma Pat" to 5 fabulous grandkiddos...4 girls and one boy...ranging in age from 5 to 13. I've been seriously card-making for just over two years.  I knit and crochet, a bit...but only make things that are flat...like blankets and throws! hehe! Anything that I have to piece together, forget it!! Oh...and I own TWO sewing machines...but can't remember how to thread them, let alone sew! But learning to sew is on my "to do" list since I love the look of stitching on cards!!    I worked as a Neonatal (NICU) Nurse and as an Educator/Consultant in nursing for 30+ years and now, thanks to my incredibly wonderful and supportive husband, I have just recently "retired" from nursing and am a SAHC!! (Stay at home CRAFTER!)
Favourite colour combination?   Pink and greenFavourite type of embellishment?  Ribbons and FlowersAre you tidy or messy?  I have my own craft room which is being re-decorated and I am definitely messy but that will improve once my new craft storage furniture is in place! How long have you been crafting for?  My whole life!Do you listen to music whilst you are crafting?  Smooth Jazz 24/7Pat's blog and her Etsy shop
